Holiday Decor Trends for 2022

By Cantiro Homes

The holidays are right around the corner which means it’s time to start decorating your home.

Our Design Team has curated a Classic Winter look for our Family Flow Show Home in Castlebrook—bringing together cozy fabrics, warm metallics and touches of greenery—sure to wow your guests as soon as they walk through the door!

Read on for our top three holiday decor trends for 2022.

1. Family Room: Natural Winter Landscape

When the weather outside is frightful, the fireplace is the best spot to cozy up during the cold winter season. Our open-concept family room is centered around the beautiful fireplace featuring a large mantle—perfect for placing greenery, twinkle lights or stockings.

Instead of highlighting traditional red or green accents pieces, pull colours from the natural winter landscape. By incorporating whites, neutrals and soothing creamy hues you’ll be able to create a joyful and uplifting space without a single candy cane or Santa in sight!

Designer Tip: The best holiday decor is the kind that matches your existing color scheme. You don’t have to go all out on red and green if that’s not your normal year-round aesthetic: White, black, navy, natural wood tones, and other neutrals can all look just as festive without having to buy new every year!

Our Family Flow Show Homes features the MIDSUMMER Interior Style—inspired by the perfect “golden hour” lighting that makes everything it touches shimmer.

2. Dining Area: Enchanted Forest Tablescape

Our Family Flow is perfect for hosting large family gathers—creating effortless flow from the kitchen to the dining area.

To create a welcoming tablescape, it’s important to not include too much clutter and allow room for food and placemats when everyone is gathered around the table. A cluster of candles down the center will create a warm ambiance that is both festive and inviting.

Designer Tip: Place greenery such as tree cuttings in a clear candle vase. Flip over the vase and place the candles on top of the base to truly elevate the candles.

To add some extra flair, spruce up your side vanity with lights and greenery to tie the rest of the room together.

3. Primary Bedroom: Seasonal Earth Tones

Decorating your bedroom may not be the first thing you think of when decorating for the holidays but don’t miss out adding some festive flair to your primary suite!

Our Family Flow primary bedroom is the perfect spot to put up your feet and relax after an evening of hosting.

Designer Tip: Nature-inspired holiday decorations aren’t new but consider pulling your entire holiday color palette from seasonal earth tones. Mossy green hues give a fresh take to the classic festive palette and pairs perfectly with browns and creams for a calm, woodsy vibe.

These decor ideas can also be applied to our spacious secondary bedrooms—allowing plenty of room for your family and friends to stay over night during the holiday season.
