Navigating Natural Areas & Current Closures in The Hills at Charlesworth
The premier southeast Edmonton community of The Hills at Charlesworth is renowned for its sustainable development which includes vast greenspace and protected natural areas.
Natural areas include a 15-acre pond where walking trails connect 30 acres of greenspace. As development of the community progresses it’s important that while exploring the area, residents and visitors remain on designated paved sidewalks and gravel trails and refrain from walking off these paths as not to disturb natural growth in the area.
At this time, for walker’s safety, the north section of the pond within the natural area has been closed. There are currently no developed walkways along the north side of the pond, and this area has been established as a municipal reserve by the City of Edmonton where natural grasses and trees are meant to grow and thrive. As the Cantiro Communities team works to reseed and promote new growth in this protected land along the pond, this area will remain closed until further notice. We ask that all visitors refrain from walking along this area and respect signage and construction fencing currently in place.
We welcome you to enjoy the many other designated walking paths and trails throughout the parks and along the protected natural areas.
