Holiday Decor Trends for 2021

By Cantiro Homes

Creating a joyful and uplifting space that stimulates warmth, tactility, and togetherness is what we all need this holiday season. Read on for our top Holiday Decor Trends for 2021!

By working with our new Interior Styles Packages introduced with the Life Collection™, our Design Team has shown how each of our styles pair perfectly with the following decor items:

Mixed Metallics

As we have seen previously, metallics continue to take the lead this year! Silvers, chromes and frosty metals are muted, bringing the snowy outside in – without the freezing cold temperatures, explains Jennifer Derry at Balsam Hill. Metallics provide shine and texture while the minimal pops of colour keep this trend fresh and current.

Don’t be afraid to layer soft golds, silvers, whites, rose gold and bronze for a borderline maximalist feel. This palette will feel festive without a single Santa, candy cane or pop of red in sight.

We have paired this trend with our SHORELINE Interior style.

Hygge

For lovers of simple, try a look that incorporates hygge. Lindsey Matthews at Country Living defines it perfectly—pronounced ‘hoo-ga’—this Danish concept encompasses a feeling of cozy contentment and well-being by enjoying the simple things in life. This look incorporates natural elements, texture, and soft tones.

Sass and Belle also promote the ‘eco’ route and ask us to consider artisanal, hand crafted, recycled glass and papier-mache decorations which are fast becoming a favourite in many households. Add candles, tree scents and tone down the sparkles, ribbon and unnecessary kitsch.

These natural elements tie in seamlessly with the Scandinavian feel of our NORDIC ELEMENTS Interior Style.

Layers of White

For those who love the clean feeling of fresh snow—whites paired on whites is perfect for staying contemporary and festive!

Texture and tone become imperative in pulling together this look and it boasts a light and airy feel that works with any decor! Think chunky knits, soft stone textures, rustic white washed wood and vintage milk glass.

We love how it compliments our MIDSUMMER Interior Style.

Dark and Stormy

Like the drink, this one is a mix of dark tones and soft spiced woods. Think rich blacks, cinnamon and walnut coming together to create a moody, rich palette. Not for the faint of heart as this non-traditional styling is quite bold.

Layering matte, gloss, metal and wood textures help create depth as well as an elegant refined feel to the space.

The bold elements of this trend pair perfectly with our OBSIDIAN Interior style.

No matter how you celebrate the holiday season, we know it will be AMAZING!
