Meet the Client Care Team: Kate Tober

By Cantiro Homes

At Cantiro, client care is more than just answering questions, it’s about guiding homeowners through one of the most meaningful journeys of their lives. For Kate Tober, that journey is personal. As a Client Care Liaison, she brings empathy, experience, and a deep appreciation for the homebuilding process to every interaction.

From Radio to Real Estate: A Unique Path to Client Care

Kate’s journey to Cantiro wasn’t straight line, but it was full of heart. With a background in radio communications and guest services, she’s always been drawn to roles that center around people. She joined Cantiro in 2021, mid-pandemic, and quickly found her stride in client care.

“I grew up in a construction household. My mom was a draftsperson, and my dad owned a truss company,” she shares. “Watching a two-dimensional plan become a livable space has always fascinated me.”

Today, Kate oversees several communities including Alces, Élan in Beaumont, Ardrossan, and soon, warranty aspects in Calgary. At any given time, she manages around 85–100 client files, offering support, guidance, and a steady hand through every stage of the homebuilding process.

3 Fun Facts About Kate

  • She’s a certified scuba diver and has explored reefs in Australia, Jamaica, Hawaii, and Mexico.
  • She’s a proud bunny mom to two rabbits, a rescued mother and her daughter.
  • Her childhood dream was to become a marine biologist, and she still hopes to see a blue whale in person one day.

A Proposal to Remember

One of Kate’s most memorable moments came early in her time at Cantiro. A client wanted to propose to his girlfriend in their under-construction home. With help from their children and a few creative touches like balloons, fabric flower petals, and a handmade sign; the proposal became a heartfelt celebration of their future together.

“It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever seen,” Kate recalls. “It really showed how special a home can be in someone’s life.”

Why Client Care Matters

Kate’s approach to client care is rooted in empathy. “People are investing in their dream homes. It’s a huge emotional and financial commitment. We try to meet them where they are and educate them along the way.”

She believes in doing what’s right an ethos shared by her team and championed by their leader, Evan. “I don’t feel like I have to fight my company to do good,” she says. “That’s incredibly endearing.”

What Makes the Cantiro Client Care Team Special

For Kate, it’s all about collaboration. “We’re a diverse team with different backgrounds and experiences. That helps us solve problems creatively and support each other.”

She also values the flexibility and empathy Cantiro offers. “We don’t just follow a black-and-white rulebook. We look at the whole situation and try to find the best solution for each homeowner.”
