Terwillegar Drive upgrades announced

The Alberta government has announced a number of infrastructure projects, including a $120 million upgrade for Edmonton’s Terwillegar Drive.

Construction is to commence in 2021 and finish in 2025 and include:

double the current Terwillegar Drive from Rabbit Hill Road to Windermere Boulevard to four lanes north and four lanes south
one lane each way dedicated to bus rapid transit
a second bridge at Terwillegar over Anthony Henday Drive
a multi-use path along the arterial road running from south of the Henday all the way to the river valley

This is a great news story that will dramatically improve commute times and create a premium transit corridor for Edmonton Transit.
