Interior Design Trends for 2023

By Cantiro Homes

Every year brings a new list of design trends and 2023 is no exception! Our Cantiro Design Team has been hard at work exploring what you can expect this year.

Read on for our full list of predictions—including sneak peeks at our brand NEW interior styles—launching February 1, 2023.

1. Nature-Inspired Elements

Gray tones are on their way out and in with the warm! This year, we are seeing a greater push towards nature. As we spend more time indoors during the cold winter months, we are noticing a greater trend to bring the outdoors in—creating the ultimate space that is both cozy and inviting.

By incorporating softer colour palettes such as light greens and calming blues—these pair perfectly with organic textures including warm wood floors, willow cabinets and live-edge or wood stump tables.

This can be seen in our New Interior Style–Birch—more details coming soon.

2. Moody & Dramatic Spaces

You will see more contrast between dark and light tone spaces–creating a dramatic impact without being too overbearing.

Take it from owner and designer of Folding Chair, Jennifer Walter when she says “deep green, purple painted or wallpapered walls in the same color as the shades, furnishings, and fabrics are so modern and cool.”

Black features throughout the home also add to the moody, gothic inspiration—featured in the hardware, cabinets, countertops, and half bath design.

This can be seen in our New Interior Style–Shade—more details coming soon.

3. Curves & Rounded Edges

Inspired by the 1920’s, we see the return of art deco in subtle details throughout the home.

Adding soft curves and arches into the finishings, help pull away from the straight lines we see in past home designs. By incorporating curves in the countertops and accent arch details, this softens a room and adds dimension.

We’ve incorporated this design element in our newest Life Collection™ model—Entertain Engage 22—featuring an extended curved kitchen island and beautiful arch details over the buffet area.  See more here.

In addition to the Entertain Engage, discover the Family Aspire 20 and Family Evolve 24—two additional models as part of our Life Collection™.

4. Dark & Textured Countertops

Pairing darker countertops with lighter cabinets creates a juxtaposition between both light and dark elements.  In the kitchen, you will find smooth white countertops on the perimeter, contrasting the dark-honed countertops with beautiful leather textured on the kitchen island.

The textured countertops also offer a natural stone look to the home, compared to the white quartz we have been seeing in the last few years.

That’s a wrap for our design trends for 2023!
